Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice
Bits and bobs on the needles...
Got my wunnerful stash enhancement from Jamieson & Smith in the Shetlands...3 sweaters' worth of 2-ply jumper-weight Shetland wool. Had to immediately cast one on...Vaila Vest
from Ann Feitelson's The Art of Fair Isle Knitting. Great stuff...loving these colors...slogging through the corrugated ribbing...will go faster once I get to the actual pattern.
And yes, folks, there ARE socks on the needle...a couple pairs, actually...but most active are the Falling Leaves from Knitty.com in Fleece Artist Merino Sock, colorway Glacier.
Haiti from Dale of Norway Dalegarn 122 is coming along nicely as well...it's been my commuter project and is just a few rows away from starting the underarm shaping...

Shrinkage
I guess I'm in a felting mode...whipped up another bag...Kristina from Black Sheep Bags in Elann.com's Peruvian Highland Wool Summer Fuscia (which felts like a dream, I think better even than Cascade 220) and Noro Kureyon #95. Fun little basic fair isle pattern...was a good size when I knit it up...
Well, apparently I have extremely hot hot water cuz 1 cycle shrunk this puppy down to about half its original size...smaller than the pattern's post-felting finished size. Oops. But, hey, it's a cute little thing...just need a sweater shaver which will make the fair isle pattern show up a little better...
Worry not...Trinket and Fearless are still being worked on, as is the Haiti sweater (which is my commuting project)...

Booga-y Nights
I finished a Booga Bag wheeeeee Discovered my washer gets nice hot water and both my bags felted in 1 cycle perfectly. Probably having a bunch of other stuff in there with them helped...The other is a Noni Baguette bag, smallest size, and still needs lining and zipper and handles before it can appear in public.
Booga from Nori Kureyon 139B...Great quick tonic for breaks from longer, bigger projects and felting is kinda like Shrinky-dinks only with wool...fun stuff.
Oy. Vacation is over. Why oh why didn't I take 2 weeks off?

Now for a Brief Commercial Break
Took a break from Fearless and Trinket to whip up a quick Mason-Dixon Washcloth (got a stash enhancement from WEBS today hehe)
What a great quick little knit this is...I used WEBS' own brand Valley Yarns Windsor cotton for it...very nubby and organic, in Spring Green. Will have a nice exfoliating quality to it. Figured a few of these would make great stocking stuffers...

One down 3 to go...
Got through the first repeat of the Fearless pattern...3 more to go...will have to look at another cardi pattern to figure out how to do the decreases next to the steeks for a cardi because this is a pullover pattern...shouldn't be a problem...hopefully...
Trinket's growing nicely too....
I really need to finalize Christmas present projects so I can see what sort of timetable I'll need to see if I'm being even remotely realistic and have some backup quickies just in case...eek. Only 4 1/2 months til Christmas...eeeeeeeeeeek Better start knitting!

Fearlessly plodding along...
Got into a decent groove with the Fearless cardi...still struggling a bit with tension, but I think it'll sort out with a good blocking/steaming...
Ordered a wooly board...looks a bit like a torture device for sweaters....
Does make it easier to block sweaters with cats around...they can't lie on them mid-blocking...
Speaking of cats, poor Trinket had a feline-related accident...she was found out by someone...somecat, more specifically, stolen from her drawer and dragged around the downstairs...the knitted part is okay but the feline-who-shall-not-be-named managed to destroy more than half the ball of *gasp* Kidsilk Haze so I've had to email around to see if any of the shops have an addition ball in that dyelot...
Off from work this week...goals are relaxation, some much-needed late spring cleaning, a bit of yard work if it's not too hot and organizing dolls and yarn stash...will probably mean an IKEA run for some bins or cabinet sorts of things...wheeeee
